Look for

Sergeant major
Small, striped and everywhere, guarding purple egg patches on hard surfaces.
A guarding male will bump your mask. Back off rather than push in.
French angelfish
A tall, dark disc scaled in tiny yellow crescents, usually in pairs.
Stay still for a moment beside a sponge and the pair often comes to look at you.
Elkhorn coral
Broad antler branches in the shallows, the classic Caribbean reef silhouette.
This is the shallowest part of most dives, so watch your fins above it.
Blue tang
A deep blue oval with a bright scalpel at the tail; juveniles are yellow.
Hover rather than chase. A loose group grazes past you on its own.

Shallow statue arc

An easy, shallow arc around the statue and coral garden before a calm return to the mooring.

Welcoming dive

Shallow, sheltered and busy. Snorkellers share the site, so stay low and let the surface belong to them.

Arc from the mooring through the bright sand channels, pause at the statue, then return across the shallow coral garden.

Usually gentle; the crew confirms the final plan.
