Terms of use
Describes DiveDay as it works today.
Plain terms for an early-access product: how DiveDay is meant to be used, what we do and do not promise, and what happens when a shop wants to leave.
Software a dive shop uses to run bookings, waivers, certification checks, trip prep and boat manifests. It is a tool the shop operates, not a service that operates the shop. Every judgement that matters on a dock (whether a diver is fit to dive, whether a certification is genuine, whether a boat should sail) stays with the shop’s own staff. DiveDay shows what it has been told and refuses to hide a gap. It does not decide.
Divers pay the shop, not us. Card payments run through the shop’s own Stripe account, so the shop’s money never sits with DiveDay and leaving does not mean extracting funds from us. Stripe’s own fees and terms apply to those payments. What DiveDay charges for itself is on the pricing page.
The shop’s records are the shop’s. We hold them to run the product and for no other purpose: not to sell, not to train anything, not to share between shops. A shop can download the whole lot as one ZIP from its settings on any day, without asking and without a fee. How it is handled while we hold it is on the privacy page.
This is early access. We are building the track record behind an uptime guarantee. Today, the export works every day and the offline boat manifest keeps roll call running on a phone with no signal, which is the moment dependable access matters most.
Do not use DiveDay to store data a shop has no right to hold, to send messages the recipient did not agree to receive, or to attempt to reach another shop’s tenant. Every shop’s data is isolated, and probing that boundary ends an account.
A shop can stop whenever it wants. Export first; the button is in settings and needs no conversation with us. We may end an account for the misuse above, or if a shop stops paying, and in either case the export stays available long enough to take the records.
These will change as the product does, and as the open questions on the privacy page close. Material changes get told to shops directly rather than re-dated here without notice.
